Conference report offers more detail on downing UAVs at critical sites

Congressional conferees further defined the administration's tools to defend nuclear sites against unmanned aerial vehicles, as part of the conference agreement to the fiscal year 2017 defense policy bill released this week. The reconciled language allows the defense secretary to, in cases where nuclear, missile and space sites and assets are threatened, counter the unmanned aircraft system in collaboration with the transportation secretary.
