The Army last year approved purchasing additional ground radar systems that Pentagon testers have repeatedly flagged as operationally ineffective and vulnerable to cyberattacks. Lockheed Martin's Q-53 counterfire target-acquisition radar system received negative ratings in the Pentagon's latest annual assessment of big-ticket programs because the system has trouble sensing simultaneous shots coming from a single location.
