Army Wants Light, Fast Operating Terminals For Special Operations Forces

The Army is looking for lightweight terminals that can be integrated onto numerous platforms and be operational in less than fifteen minutes, according to a new government notice. The service's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), on behalf of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), hopes to find "new technologies and/or off-the-shelf products that are capable of providing a low profile broadband" satellite communications, on-the-move (SOTM) terminal, the June 29 sources sought notice states.
