Boeing promotes Chilton

Boeing said Thursday Jim Chilton will become president of its network and space systems businesses, starting Oct. 21. He will succeed Craig Cooning, who is retiring, according to Boeing.

In conjunction with the promotion, Boeing said it is creating a new strategic defense and intelligence systems group by combining the strategic missile and defense systems team, which Chilton previously led, with its electronic and information solutions group.

Chris Raymond, general manager of the E&IS team, will lead the newly formed SD&IS organization.
