F-35 fix

The F-35 joint program office is making "rapid progress" repairing 15 operational F-35A jets grounded due to faulty avionics cooling line insulation, according to JPO spokesman Joe DellaVedova.

The program announced in September that the faulty insulation was discovered in 57 jets -- 13 operational Air Force jets, two Norwegian jets and 42 pre-delivery aircraft.

DellaVedova told Inside the Air Force this week that all 15 operational jets should be flying again by the end of the year.

The program will begin fielding the fix on production aircraft in December.
