The United States over the weekend took steps to bolster its ties with India, including an update to the 2012 Defense Trade and Technology Initiative, which Frank Kendall, the Pentagon's acquisition chief, said could lead to sharing U.S. aircraft carrier technology and other capabilities, possibly opening new paths for U.S. defense exports.
