The Air Force -- which ended Small Diameter Bomb I procurement in 2011, slashing the original acquisition objective in half -- is now asking Boeing to about-face and effectively revert to full-rate production of the precision munition in fiscal year 2016, a reversal of fortune that springs from the current air campaign in Syria and Iraq against ISIL. The Pentagon's FY-16 budget request includes $70 million to buy 1,755 SDB I munitions, including 1,692 in the Air Force's base budget...
