Senate Panel Wants To Give CYBERCOM Acquisition Powers

U.S. Cyber Command would receive limited acquisition authority on par with that of U.S. Special Operations Command if the Senate Armed Services Committee's recommendation survives final passage of the fiscal year 2016 defense authorization bill. The new acquisition power aims to rectify sluggish acquisition policies within the Defense Department that are hindering the growth of cyber capabilities in the face of changing technologies and a growing cyber threat.
