Expressing concern that the Pentagon's innovation efforts will not be implemented quickly enough or in an "appropriate" manner, Senate authorizers have proposed setting aside hundreds of millions of dollars for a new initiative to help the United States maintain its technological edge, with a special emphasis on directed-energy technologies.
