Contractors To Fly 10 Daily ISR Patrols In New Drone Flight Expansion

The Pentagon's new push to increase unmanned combat air patrols will require that private contractors fly 10 intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions on a daily basis around the globe, according to a recent statement from the Defense Department. Details of the 10 government-owned, contractor-operated arrangements, called GOCOs, are still being finalized, but the missions will not allow "lethal force engagement," according to a defense official with knowledge of the matter.
