Army posts RFI for Improved Turbine Engine for Black Hawks

The Army is seeking information from industry on the availability of technology to replace the engines in its Black Hawk helicopters, according to a May 31 Federal Business Opportunities notice . The service aims to "determine industry capabilities to integrate the Improved Turbine Engine (ITE) on UH/HH-60M Black Hawk aircraft." The request for information notes that the ITE would replace the GE-T700-701 series engines currently employed on the aircraft, providing "greater shaft horsepower (SHP) with improved specific fuel consumption (SFC)."...
