Deputy Defense Secretary William Lynn has ordered that the Army take over from the Pentagon acquisition office as the lead acquisition component for the Joint Tactical Radio System, according to a program spokesman.
If Congress does not pass the fiscal year 2009 supplemental funding request by the end of the month, the Army will have problems paying troops in July, Lt. Gen. Edgar Stanton, the service's military deputy for budget, said this morning.
