The U.S.-led war on terrorism has benefited from the cooperation of foreign governments across the Asia-Pacific region, the commander of U.S. Pacific Command said today. International support has expedited efforts to defeat terrorists and has allowed American forces based in the Pacific to assist in operations against targets in Afghanistan. Without terrorist training grounds or state-sponsorship of the al Qaeda network to worry about in its area of responsibility, PACOM was free to lend forces such as carrier battle groups...
