Advisory Committee Reform Bill Passes House Panel

Lawmakers on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee passed legislation this week aimed at making the activities of expert committees advising the Defense Department and other government agencies more transparent. The panel approved an amendment to the 1972 Federal Advisory Committee Act, which regulates these advisory committees, via voice vote on April 9, according to panel spokeswoman Karen Lightfoot. Rep.
