After 17 Months, V-22 Osprey Returns to Flight

NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, MD -- The V-22 Osprey returned to flight today, 17 months after the program was grounded following two deadly crashes in 2000. New flight tests were authorized after an extensive redesign that includes improved engine nacelles and flight control software. The testing will concentrate on verifying that the V-22 is now a safe and effective aircraft.
