Air Force Announces Plan for F-22 Environmental Impact Statement

The Air Force today announced its plans for preparing the environmental impact statement dealing with basing locations for the first wing of F-22 Raptors. In a Federal Register notice, the service said it would study five Air Force bases to see if they meet requirements for the initial base. The five alternatives for basing the first F-22s are Langley AFB, VA; Elmendorf AFB, AK; Eglin AFB, FL; Tyndall AFB, FL; and Mountain Home AFB, ID. As Inside the Air Force...
