Air Force Awards $80 Million Air Traffic Control Contract to ITT Industries

The Air Force has awarded ITT Industries an $80 million contract to provide the service with mobile approach control systems, the company announced today. MACS is the "next generation" tactical air traffic control system, ITT said in a statement. The system "will enable the Air Combat Command and the Air National Guard to provide air traffic control services anywhere in the world on short notice."
