Air Force Launches Upgraded DSCS Communications Satellite

The Air Force yesterday launched the 11th of 14 upgraded Lockheed Martin-built communications satellites from Cape Canaveral Air Station in Florida, the company announced. The Defense Satellite Communications System III Service Life Enhancement Program satellite will provide a 200 percent increase in communications capacity with its new 50-watt Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers, Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space said in a statement.
