Air Force may compete AWACS upgrades, speed ADS-B Out plan

The Air Force is considering competing a slate of upgrades to the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System, according to a recent notice. A Sept. 29 request for information shows the Air Force is considering whether to speed the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast Out/Mode 5 program.
