Air Force Scraps Original TSAT RFP; Will Issue New Draft This Week

The Air Force announced today that it has closed the existing source-selection for the next-generation communications satellite constellation and will release a new draft request for proposals this week. The new RFP will be for the first increment of a restructured Transformational Satellite Communications System program "that ensures a clear and affordable path to meeting joint users' needs for satellite communication services," according to a Dec. 23 service statement.
