Air Force Submits $17 Billion Wish List: $2.6 Billion Included for New Aircraft

The Air Force has detailed nearly $17 billion in programs that are not fully funded in fiscal year 2008, a list that includes $2.6 billion for new combat aircraft. Among the service's many other unfunded priorities are $250 million for body armor for airmen in Iraq and Afghanistan and tens of millions of dollars for chairs, tables and other fixtures needed to furnish Air Force facilities in the Pacific.
