AM General Humvee Contract Could Be Worth $2.3 Billion

The Defense Department today awarded humvee maker AM General a contract for new trucks that could be worth more than $2.3 billion. The six-year contract, according to a Defense Department announcement, is worth $191.9 million initially, "with an estimated cumulative total of $2,381,229,105 if all options are exercised." The announcement does not state how many new High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles would be purchased under the initial deal or through the contract options.
