Army aviation crafts interim 'federated solution' to navigational shortfall in Europe

After a nine-month rotational deployment to Europe demonstrated navigational challenges for Army aviation, the service has moved to find an interim solution. Col. Clair Gill, commander of the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, told reporters today at the Pentagon, "our aircraft lacked some key navigation equipment," adding to the challenge of operating in Europe.
