Army Awards Boeing $4.3 Billion Multiyear Contract for 181 CH-47F Chinooks

The Army today awarded a $4.3 billion, five-year contract for next-generation Chinook cargo aircraft, marking the first multiyear contract for the new helicopters, according to a Boeing statement. The contact covers 181 CH-47F Chinooks, of which 119 will be built new and 72 will be remanufactured versions of legacy D-model Chinooks, a Boeing spokesman told Inside the Army today.
