Army awards contract for handheld target acquisition device

The Army on Sept. 22 awarded a $339 million contract to DRS Technologies for a new lighter-weight handheld precision targeting device. The Joint Effects Targeting System (JETS) Target Location Designation System (TLDS) will provide the Army for the first time with a precision targeting system that can be carried by a single soldier.
