Army Conducting 'Joint Acquisition And Sustainment Reviews' To Set Priorities

HUNTSVILLE, AL -- The Army is conducting Joint Acquisition and Sustainment Reviews to determine the service’s acquisition priorities as the Pentagon enters an era of constrained budgets, according to a four-star general who is helping to spearhead the effort. Dennis Via, the chief of Army Materiel Command, and Heidi Shyu, the service's acquisition executive, launched the JASR effort earlier this year at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, where they reviewed communications and reconnaissance capabilities.
