Army to draw up new 15-year ammunition modernization plan with $16B price tag

The Army, led by the service's acquisition executive and the head of Army Materiel Command, is planning to draft a new 15-year strategy to improve the output and safety of its ammunition plants using automation and other methods. Army acquisition chief Bruce Jette told reporters during an Oct. 13 Association of the United States Army roundtable the service wants a "transformational" strategy.
