Army Eyes Aluminum-Based Technologies For Lighter Ground Vehicles

The Army this month kicked off a comprehensive industry survey about companies' abilities to make service ground vehicles lighter through aluminum components. A May 15 request for information , published on the Federal Business Opportunities website, states a team at the service's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center wants to "light-weight" various elements of vehicle designs.
