Army Formulating Official Policy for 'Wireless' Networks, Devices

The Army is formulating an official policy for wireless local area networks and portable electronic devices, the service said this week in a widely distributed message. The message, which is an interim policy statement, directs all Army activities that are testing, evaluating or using wireless "solutions" of any kind to provide information on their activities to a point of contact within the office of the director of information systems for command, control, communications and computers.
