Army Implements Sweeping New Stop-Loss Policy

The Army announced today it will bar all soldiers -- active and reserve -- in units slated to rotate into Iraq or Afghanistan from leaving the service, until those units finish their combat tours. The new "stop-loss" policy is the most sweeping to date. The Army has repeatedly used stop-loss measures since the war in Iraq began last year to stabilize force levels in theater during troop rotations.
