Army issues RFI for MANPADS interceptor

The Army yesterday released a request for information to procure a Man-Portable Air Defense System-capable interceptor intended to replace the current Stinger system for its Maneuver-Short Range Air Defense program. M-SHORAD, managed by the Army's Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, is intended to protect maneuvering brigade combat teams from aerial threats via unmanned aircraft systems, rotary-wing aircraft and other platforms.
