Army pegs $750 million for non-standard ammo, parts

The Army on March 28 awarded a firm-fixed-price contract, valued at $750 million, for "non-standard ammunition and non-standard mortar weapon systems" to Orbital ATK and Chemring Military Products. Justine Barati, a spokeswoman for the service's Joint Munitions Command, told Inside the Army that the non-standard designation refers to "ammunition and/or parts that are not in the Army supply system.
