Army Shelves 'TMAAG' Idea, Weighs Changes to Worldwide Service Commands

Army leaders have shelved the idea of creating a new organization dedicated to training foreign security forces, weighing instead design changes to the Army components of the combatant commands that would help manage the ground service's relationships with armies around the world, according to service officials. Training and Doctrine Command spokesman Harvey Perritt told InsideDefense.com the Army is no longer pursuing plans to create so-called Theater Military Assistance and Advisory Groups.
