Army shows commitment to robotics in FY-19 request

Robotics testing and prototypes would receive some sizable gains in the Army's fiscal year 2019 budget request. One new-start effort in FY-19 is the Common Robotic System (Heavy), a replacement for Remote Ordnance Neutralization Systems that would allow a robot to be the first to approach potentially explosive hazards. The Army is seeking $14.6 million in research, development, test and evaluation funds for two prototype enhancement contracts, delivery and testing of production qualification test articles and other program office costs...
