Army Wants Gates to Waive Congressional Requirement on Stryker's Readiness

The Army is planning to ask Defense Secretary Robert Gates to issue a waiver that would allow the service to spend fiscal year 2008 money to buy the Stryker Mobile Gun System while it works to ensure the vehicle is operationally ready for all missions, as required by law, according to industry sources.
