Army's new 'light tank' prototype selection coming in November

Three industry hopefuls await the Army's decision on who will build prototypes for its new "light tank," which may come in November. The Mobile Protected Firepower vehicle is meant to provide long-range, direct-fire capability to infantry brigade combat teams. SAIC is partnered with Singapore-based ST Kinetics and Belgium-based CMI Defence for its offering, integrating CMI's Cockeril 305 turret on ST Kinetics' Next Generation Armored Fighting Vehicle chassis.
