Authorizers leave other transaction authority untouched; DOD heeds 'warning shot'

The latest defense policy bill agreed to by congressional authorizers doesn't alter the Pentagon's ability to award other transaction agreements, despite controversy surrounding a nearly $1 billion OTA made earlier this year. The fiscal year 2019 defense policy bill , passed by the House last week and awaiting a vote in the Senate, requires service acquisition executives and senior DOD officials to collect data on the use of OTAs by their respective departments and agencies, according to a conference report...
