The Air Force's B-1 fleet returned to flight this week after being grounded due to a problem with the jet's ejection seat. Lt. Gen. Mark Nowland, the service's deputy chief of staff for operations, told Inside Defense following a June 21 House Armed Services readiness subcommittee hearing that although the fleet has resumed flying, there will be aircraft availability issues as the maintenance team installs a fix to the bomber's ejection seat.
