Bell achieves autonomous flight for V-280

ARLINGTON, TX -- Bell Flight demonstrated its V-280 Valor tiltrotor aircraft's autonomous flying capabilities on Jan. 8 during a piloted demonstration here at the company's flight research center. The aircraft is the company’s proposal for the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft competitive prototype, a part of the Army’s Future Vertical Lift modernization priority to replace the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
