Biden Proposes Adding More Than $23 Billion for MRAPs in FY-08 Bill

Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE) today proposed a massive increase in spending for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program, filing an amendment to add $23.6 billion to the fiscal year 2008 defense authorization bill. The $23.6 billion, Biden said in a statement, would add to the $4.1 billion in MRAP funding in the Senate Armed Services Committee's mark of the defense bill.
