BMDO Awards Contract for U.S.-Russian Satellite System

The Ballistic Missile Defense Organization announced yesterday its choice of the Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation for the Russian American Observation Satellites program. RAMOS is a joint, two-satellite experiment initiated by Russia and the United States in the early 1990s. The goal behind the effort is increased missile defense cooperation. The company was awarded a $62.5 million contract for systems engineering and integration and management support of the RAMOS effort.
