Boeing Awarded $9.8 Billion Contract For 60 New C-17s

Boeing has been awarded a firm, fixed-price contract worth $9.8 billion to build an additional 60 C-17 Globemaster airlifters for the Air Force, the Pentagon announced today. According to the Defense Department statement, "this effort will begin with advance procurement encompassing the obligation amount indicated above leading to a multiyear contract in fiscal year 2003."
