Boeing Beats Lockheed Martin for Wideband Gapfiller Contract

Boeing has beaten out Lockheed Martin for a lucrative satellite contract that could be worth $1.3 billion over the next decade, the Air Force announced. The Wideband Gapfiller deal was awarded on Jan. 2 to Boeing Satellite Systems of Los Angeles. The company will receive $160.3 million under the initial contract, with options that could extend its value to $1.3 billion through December 2010.
