Boeing HorizonX invests in autonomous flight company

Boeing said today HorizonX, its innovation cell, has invested in Near Earth Autonomy, which specializes in developing technologies to enable autonomous flight. Boeing and Near Earth Autonomy will also partner to explore future products and applications for emerging markets, such as urban mobility. The Pittsburgh, PA-based Near Earth Autonomy is a spin-off from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute and focuses on software and sensor technology to enable aircraft, according to Boeing.
