Boeing, Lockheed Martin Join Northrop Grumman's SBIRS Team

Northrop Grumman announced today it has added Lockheed Martin and Boeing to its Space Based Infrared System Low contracting team. SBIRS Low is a satellite constellation that will be able to perform missile tracking, missile defense, technical intelligence and battle space characterization in low-Earth orbit. Pentagon planners see the system as an integral piece of a future National Missile Defense system.
