Boeing To Pitch Advanced Version Of 767 In Air Force Tanker Competition

Boeing announced today that it will pitch a new configuration of its commercial 767 for the latest round of the Air Force's KC-X next-generation tanker competition. For its "NewGen Tanker," the Chicago-based company plans to install a new fly-by-wire boom with an "expanded envelope and increased fuel offload rate" and a state-of-the-art cockpit from the new 787 Dreamliner, a composite passenger aircraft now in flight testing.
