A more global marketplace would help the defense industry better weather shrinking budgets and preserve competition, industry executives argued Wednesday, but it will not be easy to fully accomplish. Appearing at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event, several current and former defense industry executives made the case for federated defense -- through which the United States and its allies would better integrate their military capabilities.
