Bush Cautions Against Hasty Decisions on Defense Spending

President Bush today said he remains opposed to a supplemental appropriations bill that would boost Defense Department spending this year until after the issue has been properly studied. However, Bush added, he remains committed to increasing defense spending "along the lines of what I promised" during the presidential campaign.
