Army Lt. Gen. Thomas Metz has been nominated as director of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, the Pentagon announced Tuesday. Metz, a 1971 West Point graduate, serves as the deputy commanding general and chief of staff at U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command at Ft. Monroe, VA.
