CNO directs Navy to curb public discussion of warfighting capabilities

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson has directed Navy leaders to dial back their public discussions about the service's warfighting capabilities because of concerns the information could aid potential adversaries. In a March 1 memo to Navy flag officers and senior civilians, Richardson asks for help "to ensure we are not giving away our competitive edge by sharing too much information publicly."
